Long Description:
Arkansaw killed here by vigilantes 18 November 1870Beautiful location along the Missouri River with Lafranboise Island, a Lewis & Clark bivac seen in the photo to the right. The site sets on the grounds of the Amereican Legion Post 8 in Pierre sporting a huge US Flag and plaque in honor of Walter H. Burke, a past State Commander and Commander of Post 8.
