Long Description:The Bijenkorf building in Amsterdam was built in 1913. It was designed by architects J.A. van Straaten and B.A. Lubbers.
Details:
1912-1915 Opening in 1913, the ground floor, fully opened only in 1915.
1935 Extension to the other side of the Bourse, the atrium is extended above the Bourse.
1975 Refurbishment and modernization of the department store, afsuiting Beursstraat.
2003-2004 Weather opening of the building, weather daylight and the attic into use as a restaurant.
Memorial monument since 2001.
