Long Description:

Depicted unique late-Baroque hand operated pump You can find in the 1st Courtyard of the Wallenstein Palace (Valdštejnský palác), seat of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, in Lesser Town of Prague.

The pump with handle in the wall and with water jet in the mouth of sandstone human head was probably constructed in the 18th century. Originally was water really pumped from Palace's well by a classical movement of the handle, but after the 20th century reconstructions the movement only opens the valve of water mains...
