Description of Covered Bridge:
Princess Place’s bridge design stemmed from a detail lighting picture that was originally given to the YBC designers. This picture excerpt was pulled from the Cherokee Grove, Historic American Buildings Survey and the U.S. Office of Archeology and Historic Preservation. It was originally drawn by Charles Chase in 1972. The design inspiration flows freely through the 45-foot covered bridge with its dark stains, black wire mesh and hardware accents. The heavy timber cover and wood shingles even mimic the roofing on the hunting lodge. James York (Owner of York Bridge Concepts, Inc.) stated, “Each covered bridge we design at YBC takes on a life of its own — no two can be alike if the principles of history, surrounding architecture and ingenuity are melded together.”
