Long Description:
The Gilbert & Barker Self Measuring Pump was manufactured in Springfield, MA, with the model being introduced in 1911 and continuing in production, through various models, until about 1929, when the company name was changed to Gilbarco. They use a manually operated pump at the bottom of the unit to pump the gasoline. Don't know if the style continued throughout the production run, but this one is a visible gas pump.

Though the pump itself has been restored and looks pretty nice, the name plate is really worn so model and serial numbers can't be made out with any certainty. On the left side of the plate is a "177". There were Models 176 and 178 made, so maybe we have a "177" here. On the right is a "6" with illegible numbers preceding it. Maybe a 176? There appears to be a serial number below, possibly "17895".

The pump, a 1920s something car (I forget the make now), a bunch of vintage tractors and a few pieces of old farm equipment are all on display at Parsons, on the north side of the highway immediately west of Second Street.

Gasoline Brand: Unbranded - pump is yellow and red so let's say "Shell".

Reproduction: no
