Long Description:
The 'big bush' crouched at the south wall of Valtice Castle is in fact old specimen of weeping form of the Pagoda tree, i.e. Styphnolobium japonicum variety 'Pendula'. Its age is unknown, but the tree was replanted in the castle garden in 1910 as 'adult' specimen. The tree is said to be oldest specimen of the tree in Central Europe. Real wonder waits for a visitor under treetop offering amazing shelter, which is formed by a net of branches re-rooted in the ground.
