Saint Anthony was established in 1964 as part of a way to split up the parish families of the former Saint Joseph's Church, of which was divided into this parish and the nearby Immaculate Conception Church. This church was constructed shortly after. As part of diocesan re-organization, this parish is partnered with Holy Spirit in nearby Monongah, where one must travel to if they require reconciliation. However, communal reconciliation services are held at Saint Anthony's seasonally.
