Long Description:
I don't see as many cobblestone houses in Steuben County as in counties further north. Perhaps they just haven't been as well preserved. In any event, this is a lovely specimen right along one of the main streets of Bath NY (Route 54).
This classic center 5-bay entrance colonial has extra long quoins and solid limestone lintels. The fenestration appears to be original with 6 over 6 light double hung windows with decorative shutters throughout. The attic has quarter fan lights (not sure if the picture shows this to best advantage due to tree canopy). The side appears to have lost a porch over the years, as there is a door with a significant drop to the ground.
