Long Description:
The first settler arrived in the district in 1836 & gold was discovered in Tuena Creek in the 1850's. Tuena grew rapidly to service the needs of miners & was declared a town in 1859. This is one of three churches in the village which is now just a fraction of its former size.

The church is built of bricks from the former Cordillera Mine. It is under the jurisdiction of the parish of Crookwell but unfortunately no longer has a service with parishioners having to travel to Binda many miles away. The church is still maintained by the diocese with well kept surrounds.
