Quick Description: Well hidden off Highway 200, 2 miles south of East Hope is this Idaho Historical Society Marker. It is about 100 to 125 feet southwest of the highway on Peninsula Road.

Long Description:
The sign tells us about the beginning of the fur trade in the Pacific Northwest, which came about when Canadian explorer, surveyor, justice of the peace, businessman, author and fur trader David Thompson built Kullyspell House 2½ miles southwest of the marker.
