Long Description:
The conversion on this International 190 chassis was done by the Howe Fire Apparatus Company, of Anderson, Indiana. It has a transverse control panel, a somewhat rare configuration which affords better visibility for the operator than does the more standard side mounted panel. This truck appears to be from the mid '50s to the early '60s.

The last fire engines were made in Anderson, Indiana in 1978, with the plant being closed on December 15, 1978.

The hamlet of Marcus doesn't appear to have a fire hall. Instead, they have reclaimed the foundation of the high school which burned down, put a roof over it and, voilà, fire truck storage.
