Long Description:

The El Camino Real or Kings Highway was built in 1789 following an old Indian trail. It was the oldest public road in Missouri. It extended from St. Louis south to Little Prairie now known as Caruthersville. The present day US Hwy 61 now follows roughly along the route of this old road
