The locks are located next to the Cheboygan Dam. The best view of the locks is parking on the East side of the river and walking across the dam.

The locks can handle a boat 60 feet long with a 17 foot beam. Operation schedule of the Cheboygan River Lock during the 2013 boating season will be as follows: (visit link)

There have been a lock at this point since 1869 . (visit link) This lock was built in 1927 and modernized in 1951.
