Long Description:
The lock separates main line between Old Barrow Line and Barrow Line. The canal was extended to Daingean in 1797 but the bridge just above this lock bears a plaque with date 1799.
The main (Shannon) line continues to the west, there are moorings at both sides and Lowtown Marina at the left (the only marina at the canal).
