This is a statue of a dog I found when getting off the tram at the Wolfsanger terminal. The statue is right across the street and rests on a pedestal that bears the name of the surrounding Bad Wolfsanger housing estate. A nearby sign put up by a local history association gives some details about the area. The place has a history for stone grinding going back to 1350. In 1841, a cold water spa was established, from 1904 to 1920 there was an emergency hospital, and from 1920 to 1943 an agricultural school. That was destroyed by bombs in WW II, and since 1973, the place is a housing estate.

Diese Hundestatue ist mir aufgefallen, als ich an der Endstation Wolfsanger aus der Straßenbahn ausgestiegen bin. Sie steht direkt auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite auf einem Sockel mit der Aufschrift Terrassenanlage Bad Wolfsanger. Wenige Meter daneben hat der örtliche Geschichtsverein ein Hinweisschild mit Angaben zur Historie des Ortes aufgestellt. Demnach gab es hier ab 1350 einen Steinmahlshof, ab 1841 eine Kaltwasserheilanstalt, ab 1904 ein Unfallkrankenhaus und ab 1920 eine Landwirtschaftsschule, die 1943 durch Bomben zerstört wurde. Ab 1973 wurde die heutige Wohnanlage mit ihren ungewöhnlichen, in den Hang hineingebauten Terrassenhäusern errichtet.
