Visitors to the Indoor Sports Complex within Steen Sports Park will notice two bronze sculptures of a boy playing fetch with his dog near the front entrance. The work was commissioned by nationally known artist, W. Stanley Proctor, also known as 'Sandy', and is #26 of 45 bronze casts of these particular figures. Sandy has his own professional website that invites visitors to view his many commissioned pieces over the years. He's sculpted many famous sports figures including Bobby Bowden, Steve Spurrier and Tim Tebow from college football. He was inducted into the Florida State Artist Hall of Fame in 2006 and there's good writeup on him on Florida-arts.org here.

The sculptures of the boy and dog are very playful in nature and compliment the mission of the Steen Sports Park which is to be a playful and fun venue for kids of all ages who live in the community to come here and partake in many of sports activities that this park has to offer. This includes soccer fields, baseball fields, a batting cage, a skateboard park, a playground and an indoor sports arena that can be rented out for various activities.
