Long Description:
The memorial plaque was placed by the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Simon Kenton was an early frontiersman who along with Daniel Boone and George Rogers Clark were instrumental in the opening of the west and the settlement of Kentucky and Ohio.  A statue Simon Kenton was placed adjacent to the earlier placed plaque.
