The Australian Fundamental Gravity Network (AFGN) is a network of around 900 Gravity base stations across the country. The accuracy of these stations is far greater than exploration survey benchmarks.

The disk is located on the concrete base behind a memorial plaque at the airfield. Signs at the waiting shed advise to stay off the apron. This memorial can be accessed by walking across the grass from the waiting shed.

The plaque reads:
"E.J.Cameron aerodrome
Named by the Balonne shire council and dedicated to the memory of E.J. Cameron, councillor 1937-1949 who initiated the proposal to establish this aerodrome.".
