"Stadtpfarrkirche St. Vitus
Die Kirche liegt am nordöstlich vorspringenden Abhang des Festungsberges (Foto 1). Der heutige Bau wurde spätestens 1420 abgeschlossen, vermutlich war die Stadterhebung im Jahr 1393 Anlass gewesen, das bestehende Gotteshaus zu erneuern. Erst knapp 100 Jahre später wurde das Langhaus errichtet. In der Zeit nach dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg, wurde die Kirche barockisiert (1660/61). 1840 entschloss man sich aufgrund der rasch wachsenden Bevölkerung zu einer Erweiterung der Kirche um ein Joch und zum Ersatz der barocken Einrichtung durch eine klassizistische. Im Rahmen einer Restaurierung im Jahre 1959 (Foto 2) erhielt das Gotteshaus weitgehend sein ursprüngliches Aussehen wieder. 1991 fand die letzte umfangreiche Restaurierung statt. " - Quelle: (

The church is located on the northeast slope of the prominent hill fort (photo 1). The present building was completed no later than 1420, probably was the city survey in 1393 was an occasion to renew the existing church. It was not until nearly 100 years later the nave was built. In the aftermath of the Thirty Years' War, the church was Baroque (1660/61). In 1840 it was decided because of a rapidly growing population to an expansion of the church to a yoke, and to replace the device by a classical baroque.
