Long Description:

This benchmark is in very poor condition and may pre-date Newfoundland's Condeferation with Canada in 1949 as the word 'Newfoundland' is visible in the disk. The disk is located just North of Pouch Cove on a hill top overlooking the town. The disk is located very near the East Coast Trail which provides some excellent hiking and scenery.

The unique designation provided is basically a combination of the few numbers I could read on the disk.

The best place to park and access the trail is at these coordinates, N47 46' 31.8", W 52 45' 52". These coordinates are also the location of a historical plaque marking the sinking of the vessel "Waterwitch" in the late 1800's and the heroic efforts of Alfred Moores to save the people on board.
