CZ: Pozdne renesancní palác je dominantou severní cásti Malostranského námestí. Vznikl spojením dvou gotických domu, jeden z nich na prelomu 15. a 16. stol. vlastnil významný humanista Bohuslav Hasištejnský z Lobkovic. Palác byl vážne poškozen pri požáru Malé Strany a Hradcan v roce 1541. K radikální renesancní prestavbe došlo za Zikmunda Smirického po roce 1603. Z té doby se zachovalo prucelí s charakteristickými nárožními bastiony, arkádové pavlace a uvnitr paláce malované trámové stropy. V paláci se 22. kvetna 1618 sešel Albrecht Smirický s dalšími celními vudci protihabsburské stavovské opozice. Na schuzce byl dohodnut další postup povstalcu, vcetne defenestrace místodržících, vykonané následujícího dne. V letech 1764-1765 nechal Pavel Montág palác cástecne barokne prestavet a rozšírit podle projektu J. Jágera.

ENG: Late Renaissance palace dominates the northern part of the Malostranské Square. The palce is on place of two Gothic houses, one of them owned by important humanist Bohuslav Hasištejnský of Lobkowicz. The palace was severely damaged by fire in the Lesser Town and Prague Castle in 1541. The radical Renaissance reconstruction was done by Sigismund Smirický after 1603. From this time is facade with corner bastions, arcade gallery and painted beamed ceilings. On 22 May 1618 Albrecht Smirice met here other leaders of the anti-Habsburg opposition. The meeting agreed the next steps of insurgents, including defenestration governors, performed the following day. In 1764-1765 Paul Montag partly rebuild and expand palace in Baroque style, according to the project by J. Jager.
