Long Description:
The church was built using a fund of money raised by public subscription after the defeat of Napolean Bonepart at the battle of waterloo.

It replaced an earlier chapel of 1630, which itself had replace a chapel built in 1584.

Idle is one of the boroughs of the metropolitan borough of Bradford.
The church seems to have a very keen set of bell ringers who are not in the least idle. They also have a very detailed website (visit link)

This is a short extract of some of the information gleaned from the website.
The tower has a peal of 8 bells cast by John Taylor & Co. of Loughborough It was delivered and installed in November / December 1914, and the first peal was rung 20th March 1915. The combined weight of the bells is 2978kg which is almost 3 tonnes.

The largest bell is inscribed
IDLE PARISH CHURCH 1914
MRS. L. HORNER, DONOR
W. MARSHALL B.A. VICAR
W. BARTON
H. THORNTON WARDENS

We ring a regular weekly practice session every Thursday evening from 19:15 until 20:45.
In addition we ring every Sunday morning, for Sunday Service for 30 minutes from 10AM.
There are also weddings throughout the year, mostly on Saturdays - but weekday Weddings are becoming more popular.
