Long Description:
Located on Phillips Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls, SD, the Cataract Hotel, built and re-built three times, served the region from 1871 to 1972. By 1882, the Catarack had 100 rooms, hot and cold water, steam heat, gas and electric lights, and with rates of $2.00 and $2.50 per day. The intersection where the Cataract was located started the street numbering system for Sioux Falls.
