Built in 1856 as a two-story home
Built by Joseph Kremer and sold to John Gatty. Later, it became William Grothaus' hardware Store in 1870; in 1902, Ed Stuckey's blacksmith shop, and Art Ell's St. Peters Garage in 1920. Living quarters removed in 1927.
The building next door, was converted into living quarters (a home) during the 1950s and this shop was converted into a garage for the tenants personal automobiles. In the photo, to the right, you can see part of the home it now belongs to.
