Long Description:
The city of Trinidad was founded in the 1514 in honour of the Holy Trinity.

Its 18th- and 19th-century buildings, such as the Palacio Brunet and the Palacio Cantero, were built in its days of prosperity from the sugar trade. Today the region, like most of the country, profits from tobacco.

Tourist operators refer to Trinidad as a living museum. The cobblestone streets, pastel coloured houses with elaborate wrought-iron grills are well preserved.

The waypoint puts you in the Parque Mayor, in front of the Iglesia Parroquial de la Santisima Trinidad. Nearby is the Cantero Museum. After browsing the displays, walk up to the roof to see a great veiw of the city (covered in beautiful terracotta tiles) and the surrounding region.
