Quick Description: Junction of Chicago River and Lake Michigan. Over 50,000 vessels, 900,000 passengers, and 200,000 tons of cargo pass through its gates annually. The lock is operated by the OMNI Corporation via contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

If you have a IDNR Sticker on your boat, the Army will allow you to use the lock. Note: while 5.7 may be the posted difference based on lake level of 577 feet, lake levels vary greatly.
