Quick Description: On the side of the main A591 road through the centre of the Lake District, is this old lime kiln. Restored by the Lake District National Park Authority in 1996.

Long Description:Most people are too busy getting through the corners on this narrow piece of road, squeezed between the kiln and the lake.
The sign says

In really good condition, if overgrown. There is a ramp at one side leading to the hopper on top.
Parking.
Room for one car at foot of ramp, or park at Waterhead and walk through field past nearby geocache.
