Long Description:
One of 5 dams placed on the Missouri River near Great Falls to produce electricity.
Great Falls is nick-named the Electric city because of the dams but Lewis & Clark wrote many entries in their journals about the treacherous "great falls" of the Missouri when they portaged the area in the early 1800's

Until the late 1990's the dams would have water flowing year-round but with the drought conditions of the past decade it is not too often you see the water over the dam.
