Long Description:

The station was recovered in good condition. Additional stamping "1981" and modern style of disk suggest that the surface mark was replaced but it was not reported to NGS. RM 5 and RM 6 were found in poor condition. Only a drill hole and countersink of RM 5 in partially broken rock were found. A disk of RM 6 is missing but its stem is still present in apparently undisturbed concrete monument. Azimuth mark was not found. The sidewalks near capitol steps were apparently replaced.

Previous recovery was "NOT FOUND" by "LOCSUR" in 1987.

HZ2491 is not listed on geocaching.com (for no discernible reason).
