Known as the Brick House on Civil War maps, Matthew Fontaine Maury's birthplace can be found in the Chancellorsville Battlefield section of the Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park. There is parking at the trailhead of a short trail to the ruins.
Maury's parents purchased the house and 103 acres of land from Robert E. Lee's father in 1797.
Today all that remains are shallow depressions and scattered bricks.
