Long Description:
Blackburn Chapel Cemetery is located in the churchyard of Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church, located on Lake Road west of Shawnee and north of Bethel Acres.
The area is flat and treeless, and headstones are set in a north to south direction. One noticeable thing is that while the headstones are all the common granite stones, one headstone stands out by itself. Located closest to the church building, it is a marble obelisk which is perhaps fifteen feet tall. It is engraved "Bettie - wife of J.R. Gaddy". Bettie was buried in 1911. There are a total of 797 burials in this cemetery.
