Long Description:
Located within Eagle Point National Cemetery are the graves of thousands of servicemen and women who've dedicated their lives to the military and are buried here for all to remember them by and the sacrifices for which many of them have made in order for we Americans to enjoy the freedoms we have today. Located in front of a small building used for miscellaneous services is a boulder with a metal plaque in front that contains the Pledge of Allegiance as well as being in braille. It reads:

I pledge allegiance
to the Flag of the
United State of America and to the Republic
for which it stands, one nation under God,
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The Pledge of Allegiance can be attributed to Francis Bellamy who wrote it in 1892. Over the decades it has been modified from its original pledge to the current pledge that we Americans recite today.
