Long Description:
Nothing is known about Rosa Lucas, however there is a possibility that she was a member of the Hitchin brewing family Lucas. She is know to have exhibited paintings in Luton.
The paintings were taken from the West of the Market Place looking East. The buildings to the East were demolished in them1960s, but the buildings to the South are in tact. In particular, the Victorian building with the round tower is clearly visible to the right of the picture. The paintings are oil on canvas and are in the collection of Hitchin Museums and Art Gallery.
