Long Description:

A 12' high granite obelisk rests on a 2' high by 4' square base. Each face has a star above the dado. The obelisk was created by H. C. Roche and erected in 1871. Four cannons are buried muzzle down at the for corners of the monument.

The north face of the obelisk is inscribed:
