Long Description:
Taken from just west of Washington Street, the photo shows the Bank of Montreal, the large brick building in the left middle ground. At the far end of the block is the post office, three storeys in 1909, only two after the 1929 fire which damaged the upper storey sufficiently as to require its removal. The fire destroyed everything else between the Bank of Montreal and the post office.
