The Sac, Fox, Misura, and Lesser Osage hunted and traveled in this area.
The tree sits on a knoll between two natural lakes, both spring fed. And the assumption is it marker a camp site with plenty of water and plenty of vision in all directions for hunting parties of many tribes.
