Nikola Tesla, vedec a vynálezce, se narodil dne 10. cervence 1856 v rodine srbského duchovního ve vesnicce Smiljani na území dnešního Chorvatska. V létech 1879-1880 studoval v Praze a v roce 1936 obdržel cestný doktorát na Ceském vysokém ucení technickém. Svými výzkumy a objevy v oblasti elektrotechniky se zasloužil o pokrok ve vede s významem pro celé lidstvo.

U príležitosti 150. výrocí narození Nikoly Tesly umístilo Velvyslanectví Republiky Chorvatsko a Velvyslanectví Republiky Srbska v Ceské Republice ve spolupráci s hlavním mestem Praha a Mestskou cásti Praha 6 tuto desku v parku a ulici, která nese jméno Nikoly Tesly.
Desku slavnostne odhalil dne 13. 11. 2006 prezident Republiky Chorvatsko pan Stjepan Mesic u príležitosti své státní návštevy Ceské Republiky na pozvání pana prezidenta Václava Klause.

Nikola Tesla, scientist and inventor, was born on 10 July 1856 in the family of Serbian spiritual in Smiljani village in the territory of today's Croatia. In the years 1879-1880 he studied in Prague and in 1936 he received an honorary doctorate from the Czech Technical University. His research and discoveries in the field of electrical engineering is credited with advances in science with relevance for all mankind.
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Tesla the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Serbia Embassy of the Czech Republic in cooperation with capital city Prague and City District Prague 6 placed this board in the park and street which bears the name of Nikola Tesla.

The board officially unveiled on November 13, 2006, President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Stjepan Mesic on the occasion of his state visit to the Czech Republic at the invitation of President Vaclav Klaus.

Before his ten-year presidential term between 2000 and 2010 he held the posts of Speaker of the Croatian Parliament (1992–1994), Prime Minister of Croatia (1990), the last President of the Presidency of Yugoslavia (1991).
Václav Klaus (born 19 June 1941) is a Czech economist and politician who served as the second President of the Czech Republic from 2003 to 2013. He also served as the second and last Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, federal subject of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, from July 1992 until the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in January 1993, and as the first Prime Minister of an independent Czech Republic from 1993 to 1997.
