Long Description:
A white concrete cylindrical pole with a black and white marker on top.
The pole has a plaque marked as follows: GEODETIC SURVEY MARK A7JA (see photo).
There is also another LINZ plaque at the base explaining what a Trig Station is. Because this is such a busy populated spot in a lakeside reserve LINZ is obviously taking the opportunity to educate the people who might wonder what this strange looking object is. (see photo).

Very close by there is another Survey marker under a cast iron plate at ground level. It is marked No.GPS 2000. We did not lift the heavy plate to look underneath as it clearly stated it is an offence to interfere with this mark. It appears this second marker might be B9DY which is described as a steel pin in a tube under a cast iron cover (also see photo).
State/Territory: North Island NZ

Visit Instructions:
Include a photo of the mark with your GPS and give a description of your visit. Include any information regarding changes to the marker or area others may find useful. Additional photos of the surrounding area are also welcome.
