Ginny Lee Cheek


Ginny Lee Cheek, 57, of Lowell, Arkansas, died Friday, April 17, 2009, in Northwest Medical Center, in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born August 26, 1951, in Bentonville, Arkansas, to Lemuel A. Smith and Mildred F. Denison Smith. Ginny was the owner of Mildred's Tax Service. She was a former free-lance court reporter, member of the Missouri State Legal Secretary Association and president of the Alabama State Legal Secretary Association. A member of Elm Springs United Methodist Church, Ginny faithfully served as a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Emmaus Community. She was a huge Arkansas Razorbacks fan. Ginny will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother aka "Bunny.? She was preceded in death by her father and one son. She is survived by her husband, David Cheek of the home; mother Mildred F. Smith of Lowell; two sons, David Wayne Cheek and wife, Francis of Springfield, Mo., and Jeremy Cheek of Fayetteville, Ark.; two daughters, Kris Sullivan and husband, Scott of Lowell and Amy Bemis and husband, Chip of Fayetteville; one brother, Dennis Rasmussen and wife, Paula of Rogers; and one sister, Betty Anne Noland and husband, Tom of Ontario, Canada. Ginny is survived by grandchildren, Dean Cheek, April Pruitt, Jana Bonner, Sheree Loveland, David Blaine and Alexis Cheek, Jessica and Aaron Sullivan, Shiloh, Benjamin, Kessiah and Oliver Bemis; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, Kathy Poore and Tammy Denson. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, in Elm Springs United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, in Elm Springs United Methodist Church, with Rev. Carl Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in Benton County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elm Springs United Methodist Church Building Fund. Arrangements by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Arkansas.
