Long Description:The base of the tower is from Norman times and is part of the earliest church buildings. The walls are of small stones. The upper two stages of sandstone blocks were added in the 15th century. Tower in square built with parapets and corner pinacles.
There are eight bells in the tower, 2 1979 Eijsbouts, Aston; 1 1780 Thomas Hilton, Wath; 1 1675 Samuel l Smith, York; 2 1500 Selioks, Nottingham; 1 1750 A.Walker and J.Ludlan, and 1 1613 William Oldfield, Doncaster.
