This pump trolley is located on the grounds of a small shopping plaza that is adjacent to the old train station in Carleton Place. It appears to be an original pump trolley used by the Canadian Pacific Railway which owned the railway tracks and maintained a substantial roundhouse in Carleton Place before it was abandoned in 1939. The pump trolley is painted yellow and rests on rails.
