Quick Description: The newer of two meeting houses, next to one another. The new one, built in 1963 according to the date stone, replaces the 1859 Georgian, brick meeting house, which now serves as an annex to the school, a daycare facility I believe.

Long Description:The meeting house is of the typical brick one would see, understated, simplistic, with the usual white shutters and overhang/porch at the entrance. The entrance faces away from the main road, something also pretty typical of these things. This is where the 1963 date stone is located, at the very top, directly under the gable in the form of a white, rectangular stone. The date is deeply incised under the plane stone which is four brick rows form the top and flush with them as well. All meeting for worship now happens here.
I walked around this area on a Saturday when I knew it would be closed so I could get a complete lay of the land. The original meetinghouse was built in 1800 and of course burned right to the ground. A new one was made in the same year it burned, 1859 and finished the following year. There is a big date stone on the northeastern side, way at the top. It is a polished stone inset flush into the brick. The year 1859 is incised in the smooth stone. It looks like marble. I do not think granite can shine up like that and definitely not with that type of marbling I saw.
And there you have it, a tale of two houses.
