Original trail of early indians and settlers
Named for the many early corn-flour-woolen mills situated along Spring Creek
A part of the first Old Missouri Road before 1830-1858
Butterfield (stage lines) created present Old Missouri Road to east in 1858
bypassing the town of Shiloh (Springdale)
First Government Post Road 1836
Cherokee Trail of Tears March 20, 1839, Dr Wm I Morrow, Wagonmaster
Military Road during Civil War 1861-1864
Part of Old Wire Road - Telegraph Road which turned west onto Johnson Street,
S on Pleasant Street to 68 W, continuing S on the Johnson Road
