Long Description:
One Ton Post is a testament to the great Australian surveyors who met the challenge of marking our state borders despite harsh conditions. This huge wooden survey marker is believed to be the largest in Australia and was installed by John Cameron in 1881.

Mungindi is both a NSW and QLD town but I have categorised the waymark as NSW as it was installed by a NSW surveyor.

NSW Designation: Unknown
QLD Designation: 142251

The post itself stands on the banks of the Barwon River and has the carvings "LAT 29"; "NSW" and "QL" on 3 sides.

I've included a photo of myself (I'm 6' 9") with the post to give an idea of how big the marker is!

Definitely worth a visit if in the area.
State/Territory: NSW
