Long Description:
This legendary facility is the manufacturer of many home appliances, namely refrigerators and washer/dryers. In 2009, it was announced that Whirlpool would be moving the factory from Evansville to Mexico to lower costs. This was a lose of 1,100 full-time jobs in Evansville in mid-2010.

The factory still stands, idle at the time the waymark was presented. It was recently purchased by a private marketing company, but no plans have been announced as to what they will do with this iconic factory.
