The motif of this clock features the Korean colors in the traditional pinwheel design, and the ornate super structure serves as a light pole for the plaza area in front of the museum.
The museum focuses on the unique culture of the Sangju area from pre-historic to modern times. In addition to the musuem building, there are many outdoor displays and a solar power exhibition hall built in a geodesic dome design.
