Long Description:
'Gulliver', Lowestoft's Wind Turbine was completed on Friday 10th of December 2004 and was Suffolk's first commercial wind turbine. Built by SLP Energy, it took just 4 days to construct and is located at Britain's most easterly point, Ness Point in Lowestoft. Standing some 126m (413 ft) high this giant wind turbine can be seen towering over the town and is estimated to generate 2.75MW of electricity, enough energy to power 1500-1600 homes and saving in excess of 6000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year. The rotor diameter is 92m (301ft) and each of the 3 blades weighs 10 tonnes.

The turbine was connected to the national grid in January 2005 and is situated on UK's most easterly point, Ness Point, Lowestoft, Suffolk. The project was undertaken by Lowestoft's own leading engineering company, SLP Engineering Limited.

The name 'Gulliver' was chosen by local residents in a poll before its erection.
