Long Description:
We stopped by for some dinner after a caching day in the area, after having seen the sign for this restaurant on the highway. This was a cozy local establishment with some of the best brisket I've had while in Kentucky, tender with a good smoke ring. The pulled pork should was tasty, and had been pre-moistened with some suce. They had 2 sauces, similar in consistency, slightly tomatoey with a good vinegar balance, with one of them having just a bit more pepper heat on the tongue.
The sides were standard beans/slaw/potato salad, and were done well, but nothing really shone through. The cornbread muffin that we got was very dry, though it was later in the evening.
Sodas and tea only here, no alcoholic beverages. Affordable, with 2 adults getting a 2-meat meal, 2 sides and a drink for $22.00
