Beach
Mills Beach (NSW 514) faces northeast and trends from the boundary rocks southeast to the lee of Mills Point, which extends 250 m to the northeast. Waves average less than 1 m and usually maintain a steep reflective cusped beach face, with reefs extending off north point to converge 150 m off the centre of the beach. It is backed by a low foredune and the beachfront cabins of the caravan park. There is a car park in lee of the northern rocks, with access also from the caravan park.
Swimming
Best on the quieter Beagle Bay beach and on South Durras when rips are absent. If waves are bigger than 1 m, stay at Mills.
Surfing
Usually a low beach breaks at Cookies and only a surging shorebreak at Mills, however during high seas both can provide some shelter from the larger waves and south winds, with the reef at the southern end of the Mills producing a small right.
Fishing
Gutters only occur on Cookies following high seas with a boat ramp on Cookies for outside fishing.
