Long Description:
This bay window red caboose was originally in service as the final car in the strong and dynamic Louisville and Nashville Railroad [L&N].
From the early 1970's through the early 1980's, Seaboard System Railroad purchased L&N. The Red Caboose was gifted by the Seaboard System Railroad to the Venice Area Historical Society as reminiscent of the Seaboard Air Line Railway passenger trains that came to and from the Venice Train Depot during its thriving years.
The Venice Area Historical Society uses the caboose as their office at the Venice Train Depot site, in an area of the property designated as Rollins W. Coakley Railroad Park. The Red Caboose bears the brand name "Seaboard" as well as the Venice Area Historical Society seal.
Current Use: Office for the Venice Area Historical Society
 Type Of Caboose: Bay Window
